The cost of the service is mentioned unless otherwise specified. There are no hidden costs. If you do not see anything suited to your needs please contact us and we’ll do our best to provide you with a solution.

To use our services send us an e-mail detailing your project and the services required. After an agreement is reached on the services and a final cost is arrived at, make a payment as agreed and you are on the path to getting your book published.

Typing

We provide typing services in English to convert handwritten documents to electronic files. The charges for typing start from Rs. 20 per page (1 page = 300 words). They may vary a bit depending on quality of the manuscript submitted (how legible is the handwriting etc.). We send the soft copy of the typed material back for your review. Editing services

Does poor word choice, awkward sentence structure, bad grammar, creative spelling, or incorrect punctuation drag down your writing? Using your software’s spell checker is a good start toward creating a client-ready document, but it certainly won’t catch everything. For example, it won’t differentiate between two, to, and too; weather and whether; or bill and kill. Typos and grammatical errors can completely change the message you are trying to convey and diminish the credibility of your writing. Also as a first time writer you may have a very good concept but a weekly structured plot can kill the story. You need a professional editor or proofreader to do the tedious work to ensure that what you’ve written is accurate, professional, and free of embarrassing errors.

Interactive Rewriting (LEVEL 1)
This the most involved level of editing. If you want to go for this level of editing, it is important that you have enough time in hand so that you can work on rewriting parts of the book, if required. The developmental editor may help plan the organization, features, and other aspects of the work

• Giving detailed editorial feedback on the content, structure, flow, story-telling etc
• Suggesting formats to communicate the message.
• Rewriting and restructuring the text to fit the format.
• Moving entire paragraphs and sentences to improve flow.
• Ensuring consistent structure by adding or deleting headings.
• Identifying gaps in content, and supplying or describing the needed copy, so the author can resolve them.
• Deleting content that is outdated or that does not achieve the desired marketing focus or tone.

Substantive Copy Editing (LEVEL TWO)
Level two proofreading includes marking the following:

• All inconsistencies in style
• Capitalization
• Abbreviation
• Acronyms and symbols
• Terms and phrasing
• Use of numbers
• Treatment of graphics
• Layout
• Sentence rewriting
• Word replacement etc. for improving the readability or impact
• Inconsistencies in narrative voice

Standard Proofreading (LEVEL THREE)
This includes the following:

• Typos
• Misspellings
• Glaring grammatical errors
• Deviations from specifications (as indicated on a style sheet)
• Deviations from dead copy (for comparison proofreading only)
• Wrong or missing punctuation
• Incorrect spacing
• Misalignment of text or graphics
• Incorrect word division and other bad breaks
• Widows and orphans
• Type style errors
• Numerical or alphabetical sequence errors (in outlines or tables)
• Front-matter listing errors

We charge by the page. The industry standard for a “page” is 300 words. (To figure out your page count, divide your total word count by 300.) This way, you do not have to worry about whether your manuscript is in the right font or type size. You can send it to us “as is.”

There is a minimum charge of INR 1200 per job. Please anticipate an additional fee for rush jobs as well as any applicable courier charges. These rates apply to electronic editing of Microsoft Word documents and hard copy. If your document is in a PDF format, there may be an additional charge due to the complicated editing tools.

Layout design

This involves making your manuscript print-ready. That means font selection, margins, incorporation of images, table of contents, copyright information amongst others.

What you need to do

• Give a complete final draft of your book in an electronic file, including dedication, acknowledgement, contents page, introduction, chapter heads, footnotes, bibliography etc. wherever applicable. It should be thoroughly edited and corrections made. We will print only what is given to us. We do not make any additions or deletions to the manuscript.
• If any photos, boxes, charts, graphs, maps etc are to be used they should be marked in correct places in the manuscript and hi-resolution images provided along with these. If you want these images to be created you can check our special services.

What we will do

• We will design the first chapter of your book and submit it to you for review. You will have the opportunity to provide feedback on elements, such as the fonts chosen, the spacing between the lines, chapter heads and indents.
• After you have approved the sample, we will proceed along the same lines with the rest of the book.
• After the book is completed, you will have another opportunity to review the book in PDF format and point out any design corrections. If you require printouts they will be charged extra. INR 10 per page for black & white and INR 15 for coloured printouts. Outstation courier charges (Outside Delhi NCR) will be as applicable.
• Suggested changes/corrections at this point will not include addition/deletion of text or images, etc. Such changes will incur additional charges.
• After all changes have been incorporated, a high resolution PDF version of the book will be prepared for printing.

Cover design

Like it or not, people judge your book by its cover. Part of the joy of owning new books is the aesthetic beauty of a perfectly made book. You don't want to ruin that experience for your readers with an unattractive cover. There is a lot more to choosing your cover art than just finding a picture and superimposing some text. For an established author the book sells because of the name. For a first timer or a self-publisher a good cover is the fastest and a sure way to catch the eye of a reader.

The three most important elements of a good cover are:

• Cover art: It actually says a great deal about a book, its genre and theme.
• Title: A catchy title and an explanatory sub-title can set the theme and expectation.
• Blurb: Blurbs are reviews, teaser passages (usually found on the first page inside the front cover) and plot summaries (usually found on the back cover). For a first time author reviews are not possible but teasers and plot summary are valuable as they provide a taste of the writer's prose style and a brief preview of what one can expect when reading the book.

We offer you different levels of cover design depending on your preference and budget:

• Level 1
• Here you provide us with the details of the book (theme, genre, summary etc.) and a cover image, and we design the cover around it. One round of minor modifications is accepted e.g. font, font colour and image placement.
• Charges for this are INR 1500
• Level 2
• Here you provide us with the details of the book (theme, genre, summary etc.) and a cover image. We’ll give you two concepts based on the image. You can choose one and we will incorporate one round of minor modifications in font, font colour and image placement.
• Charges for this are INR 2500
• Level 3
• This includes Level one. You may give an image for this level or leave the choice to us. We’ll give you two distinct concepts to choose from. Two rounds of modifications will be incorporated, if required.
• Charges for this are INR 4000
• Level 4
• This is where you have a completely customized cover. We’ll give you up to 4 concepts and 5 rounds of modifications. You can opt for purchased stock photos, custom photos or illustrations.
• Charges for design for this package are INR 6000.
• Charges for stock photos, custom photos or illustrations will be as applicable.

Apart from the cover image you’ll have to provide an author photo, blurb, barcode, ISBN, logo if any and anything else you want to put on the cover.

ISBN

The International Standard Book Number (ISBN) is a unique numeric commercial book identifier. It is a controlled, 10- or 13-digit identification number that allows publishers, libraries, and book dealers to locate books. It is not necessary to have an ISBN number but if you want to sell your book then having an ISBN means that your book will appear in bibliographic databases that are often referred to by booksellers when they are looking for a particular book. A different ISBN is allotted to each imprint of the book ISBN numbers are provided to publishers.

They are free in India. You can use ISBN allotted to us or get one on your own. If you use an ISBN allotted to us then the publisher of your book is ‘Publish Our Dreams’. We reserve the discretion to allow you to use our ISBN. We’ll approve of the content before we give the ISBN.
